“Mushoku Tensei Season 2”: It Was Sad . . . But Full of Hope | #BitesizeAnimeReviews

It’s an isekai within an isekai. You thought if you’d get used to it because you’ve done it once, but that cannot be farther from the truth. Rudeus’s journey continues, although no one knows what the destination is. All he needs is to survive and be strong enough to protect the people he cares about. But now that they’re all missing, the first step in his adventure is to survive and find his family. One by one, no matter how dangerous or meek the chance of them being alive is.

It was another thrilling season, although it was a far contrast from the previous one. Season 1, especially the first few episodes, indulged us with the fun and laid-back side of the isekai genre: Rudeus discovering his skills and exploring magic. This season, however, underlined the dangers of his current world. It’s not a place you can survive in unless you have the strength, the intellect, or the reliable party-mates to watch your back – thankfully, Rudeus has all three!

I’m glad to have watched this anime one day before the year ends. Everything was hopeful. Rudeus continues his journey – even alone – to find his missing family members. Eris and Ruijerd are safe, too, and it seems like Roxy and Sylphy are out of danger, as well. It’s sad that they parted ways, but the road ahead of them is long and winding. They’ll surely cross paths again if they only keep walking!
